Forsyth Library Welcomes New Dean of Library Services

Forsyth Library in pleased to welcome the new Dean of Library Services, Leslie Haas.

Originally from Idaho, Haas earned a bachelor's degree from Boise State University; a master’s in library science from the University of Arizona and a master’s in education from Loyola University in Chicago. She is currently working on a doctoral degree online from the University of Liverpool, England.

Her experiences range from business reference librarian to numerous leadership roles in Texas, Ohio, Utah and the Middle East. Mostly recently, Dean Haas served as head of the Research Services Department for Georgia Southern University Libraries in Statesboro, GA. Prior to that, she built Learning Commons areas in libraries at both Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates and Loyola University in Chicago.

Dean Haas joined FHSU in November 2020 and is now preparing for her first full semester at the helm. With a passion to remove barriers and meet student needs, Dean Haas is a welcome addition to Forsyth Library.
