Water Plant Operator

Office Manager

The City of Hays’ Police Department is looking for a full time Office Manager.  This office position assumes supervisory responsibilities for Courts and Records, evaluates subordinate personnel, prepares schedules and resolves scheduling conflicts, serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Police Department’s Administrative staff, answers and directs incoming calls, manages the Police Department website and social media, and performs general clerical and accounting duties.  Applicant must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Job offer is contingent on pre-employment physical. 


Normal schedule for this position is Monday – Friday with an alternative work schedule allowed to help achieve a work/life balance. 


REQUIREMENTS 
A High School Diploma or GED and 1-3 years relevant experience required.  A technical degree or some college credit preferred.  Excellent organizational skills, office technology, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word, required. Applicant must reside within a 40-mile radius of Hays. 
 
COMPENSATION
Staring pay range: $20.47– $33.57/hour.  Pay based on experience.  This position is eligible for full benefits including paid time off, holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, retirement (KPERS), longevity bonus, annual raises.
