Details

Hays will be back open for business soon!  Join Doug Williams, Grow Hays Executive Director, Sara Bloom, Downtown Hays Development Corporation Executive Director, Melissa Dixon, Hays Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director, and Sarah Wasinger, The Chamber President/CEO to have an in-depth conversation about how citizens can do their part to patronize local businesses to fuel our economy and keep our unemployment rates from escalating.   In this discussion we will take a deep look into specific things families can do to positively impact local businesses.
Topics of conversation could include:
  • Shopping local and reducing online purchases businesses that don’t impact our local economy
  • Purchasing local gift cards and Chamber Cheques instead of giving cash for presents (money stays local)
  • Have a few dine out or carry in days as a family each week
  • Fly Hays Regional Airport instead of driving or flying from another airport
  • Be intentional about shopping at small businesses throughout the year
  • Positive impact of sales tax in our community
  • Supporting local events once they start again
  • Volunteer your time or make a contribution to your favorite non-profit organization
  • Have a stay-cation this summer and find ways to explore our beautiful city and all it has to offer
