Election Debate 111th District Race On Wednesday, October 12th, constituents in the 111th Congressional District will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with both candidates at the Fall Election Forum.  The American Democracy Project, FHSU Institute of Public Affairs, FHSU Political Science Department, Tiger Media Network, and The Chamber in Hays, Kansas have partnered to bring this opportunity to voters. The forum will be held at the Rose Garden Banquet Hall & Catering located at 2350 E. 8th St.  Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the official event commencing at 6:00 p.m.  Incumbent Representative Barbara Wasinger and challenger Edward Hammond will begin with opening remarks.  After opening remarks, the forum will shift to a series of questions and finish with closing comments.  Questions for the forum may be submitted in advance to hayscc@hayschamber.com.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit questions that evening. The debate will be moderated by KAKE journalist Pilar Pedraza and Kansas Reflector senior reporter Tim Carpenter.  Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. A special thank you to event sponsors Midwest Energy and The Hays Daily News for providing refreshments for the event.
