One of our goals at the Ellis County Conservation District for 2026 was to hire a paid summer intern. We were looking for a high school or college student. We mentioned the internship at our events, sent informational emails to teachers, and posted on social media with no luck. The Part-Time Job and Internship event at Hays High School hosted by The Chamber in Hays occurred at just the right time. I spotted the information about the event in an email and asked if we could participate. At the event we visited with several students about the summer internship and ended up hiring one of those students. Thank you, The Chamber in Hays, for hosting the event!
