Position Summary
Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Development Director (DD) will spearhead fundraising efforts as Options Domestic & Sexual Violence Services continues to grow. The DD plans and implements the organization’s development and fundraising programming to provide for short- and long-term needs of the agency including annual campaigns and capital campaigns.
Essential Functions
Unrestricted – 100%
- Develop and execute Options’ annual fundraising plan, in coordination with the Fundraising Committee
- Participate in Fundraising Committee meetings
- Secure financial support from individuals, local businesses, foundations and corporations
- Manage the implementation of donor relations management software, and direct the staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
- Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with current donors
- Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them
- Develop and grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors
- Develop, plan and execute special fundraising and “friend raising” events
- Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
- Conduct foundation seeking activities including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements
- Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies
- Direct the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives
- Direct capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives
- Direct employee fundraising drives
- Oversee prospect research
- Work closely with staff, Executive Director, and Board of Directors
- Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about Options and/or its programs and services with the community, including the Executive Director when appropriate
- Produce relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to donors and the public, including social media posts (for example: Annual Reports, quarterly newsletters, case statements, etc.)

Preferred Education and Experience

Evening Shelter Advocate
Position Summary
The Shelter Advocate has primary responsibility for shelter-based services including implementation of daily shelter services, manning the 24-hour helpline, cleaning and maintaining the shelter and responding to crisis calls. The Shelter Advocate assists victims as they proceed through the criminal justice and/or medical system and provide services both during crisis and after to assist in stabilizing their lives after victimization.
Essential Duties

VOCA – 100%
- Provide direct services to victims and ensure proactive service delivery and follow-up.
- Respond to on-call requests for victims, sometimes at various locations including, but not limited to, law enforcement centers, hospitals, on-scene (as requested by law enforcement) and other public locations.
- Provide all 12 Core Sexual Assault Services and all 13 Core Domestic Violence Services in accordance with the Advocate Manual and other agency protocols.
- Assist victims to develop safety plans, both immediate and long term.
- Perform victim intakes, as assigned.
- Provide victims with referrals for other services and assist victims to apply for community resources such as housing, drug/alcohol counseling, mental health services, financial assistance, etc.
- Assist victims to complete and submit Victim Compensation applications.
- Primary responsibility to answer the helpline when the main office is not open.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a healthy and safe living environment for shelter residents.
