Member Services Representative
Overview
Under the supervision of the Member Service Manager independently performs membership sign-ups, facility tours, pro-shop-juice bar sales, prospective members and member inquires, data entry and filing.
Position Summary
- Maintains and reports locker usage and corporate membership attendance statistical information.
- Performs all member service functions including but not limited to: member check-in, enrollment, class scheduling, locker service, sales, inquiries, purchase procedures, child care & reception desk; works at the front desk and assists members with purchases, to include items from the pro shop and juice bar, and obtains credit when needed.
- Assists in maximizing inventory turnover with a profit margin and minimum of budgeted average markup, reviewing inventory and sales report periodically; developing juice bar and pro shop sales promotion programs to meet/exceed expected sales; maintaining proper accounting for monthly inventory; and performing walk-through of the pro shop and juice bar.
- Assists in sales efforts; handles and places prospective calls, converts calls into scheduled appointments, conducts effective sales presentations/tours, accountability for closing sales and effective follow-up on all interactions with prospects; works with management team to promote and administer effective membership growth and retention programs both internally and externally; and coordinates, and assists in managing sales efforts and staff processes including member prospects, membership inquiry, scheduling appointments, conducting sales presentations and tours, closing sales, and corporate wellness.
- Ensures all equipment is in proper working order and placed in proper storage area; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately; inventories and orders supplies; and maintains proper operations

Wellness Specialist
Overview
Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, independently performs member orientations and assessments at The Center for Health Improvement; maintains, reviews, interprets, and incorporates member exercise program and plan of goals through data software; assists in designing, implementing and maintaining a variety of member programs.
Position Summary
- Performs assessment evaluation (BP, HR, flexibility, strength tests, body composition, waist/hip ratio, sub-maximal exercise tests); conducts member orientations and use of equipment and follow-up; maintains member exercise program and plan of goals through exercise data software; reviews members charts, interprets results and incorporates information and makes appropriate changes to overall exercise plan towards improving members' overall well-being; maintains member retention through regular contact with members through exercise software; and attains a knowledgeable level of specific diseases, medications, wellness and latest health issues.
- Assists in maintaining health and wellness programs for members, corporate and community events; reports success of programs with written publications
- Returns all equipment to proper storage area; ensures all equipment is in proper working order; and removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately.
- Reports/records attendance of classes, program stats; clearly and appropriately communicates to staff and all internal and external customers.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in exercise science or related health field and a national certification National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) through a credential health/fitness association or Athletic Training Certification (ATC) preferred or pursuing a degree in HHP/ES.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)- within the first two weeks of employment.
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - within the first two weeks of employment.
- Basic First Aid certification - within the first six months after hire.
Preferred:

Under the supervision of the Aquatics/Group Fitness Manager, independently leads group fitness classes at The Center for Health Improvement; maintains, reviews, interprets, and incorporates member exercise program and plan of goals through observation and participation; designs, implements and maintains a variety of member programs.
Position Summary
- Prepares for class by having proper equipment available and sound system ready.

- Basic Life Support (BLS)- within two weeks of hire.

Lifeguard
Overview
Under the supervision of the Aquatics/Group Fitness Manager, independently maintains a safe and clean environment in the aquatic center at The Center for Health Improvement; maintains, reviews, interprets, and incorporates member safety through observation; assists with all day to day aquatic center issues and maintains accurate records.
Position Summary
- Lifeguards the pool during participation; maintains all life safety codes; disciplines members who are not following the aquatic rules as stated;
- Routinely make decisions about the safety of members in the aquatic area and provide the appropriate supplies;
- Detects problems and communicates them to the appropriate staff;
- Assists with schedule coordination; and assists with program development; and ensures proper water temperature and chemical balance of pool.
- Responds appropriately to emergency procedures; assesses the situation; maintains a calm environment; and performs lifesaving rescues as outlined in lifeguard training certification.
- Assists in locker room job functions during down pool times; ensures that there are adequate towels and supplies; ensures clean pools and pool decks with pool cleaning equipment; and performs chemical checks of all pools and reports issues to supervisor.
- Returns all equipment to proper storage area; ensures all equipment is in proper working order; follows daily, weekly, and monthly checklist for aquatic area maintenance and upkeep; and removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately.
