Member Services Representative
Overview
Under the supervision of the Member Service Manager independently performs membership sign-ups, facility tours, pro-shop-juice bar sales, prospective members and member inquires, data entry and filing.
Position Summary
- Maintains and reports locker usage and corporate membership attendance statistical information.
- Performs all member service functions including but not limited to: member check-in, enrollment, class scheduling, locker service, sales, inquiries, purchase procedures, child care & reception desk; works at the front desk and assists members with purchases, to include items from the pro shop and juice bar, and obtains credit when needed.
- Assists in maximizing inventory turnover with a profit margin and minimum of budgeted average markup, reviewing inventory and sales report periodically; developing juice bar and pro shop sales promotion programs to meet/exceed expected sales; maintaining proper accounting for monthly inventory; and performing walk-through of the pro shop and juice bar.
- Assists in sales efforts; handles and places prospective calls, converts calls into scheduled appointments, conducts effective sales presentations/tours, accountability for closing sales and effective follow-up on all interactions with prospects; works with management team to promote and administer effective membership growth and retention programs both internally and externally; and coordinates, and assists in managing sales efforts and staff processes including member prospects, membership inquiry, scheduling appointments, conducting sales presentations and tours, closing sales, and corporate wellness.
- Ensures all equipment is in proper working order and placed in proper storage area; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately; inventories and orders supplies; and maintains proper operations
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.

Play Center Lead
Overview
Under the supervision of the Fitness Director, independently oversees the delivery, care and pickup of all children and works with parents. Supervises, and trains all staff; delegate’s work assignments, assists with interviewing of play center staff and is responsible for creating a fun and safe environment for the children. Assists in building revenue producing youth programs.
Position Summary
- Demonstrates leadership and organization to maintain a safe environment for a large group of children ranging in age of 6 weeks to 13 years old.
- Develops, plans and maintains necessary documentation to assure that risk management and safety are addressed throughout the play center area; responsible for conducting fire and tornado drills to ensure children’s safety; oversees the delivery, care and pickup of children and keeps playroom clean, neat and safe.
- Recommend having training and knowledge on working with children that may have various physical and behavioral capabilities.
- Create relationship and demonstrates optimal customer service with parents and children that retain member and their children.
- Possesses strong communication skills, which are needed to work well with parents and children, along with the leadership team at The Center. Communicates with Director, Volunteer & Associate Services to coordinate Volunteens and Volunteers when necessary.
- Continuously communicates updated policies/procedures to keep parents informed.
- Ensures all parents are charged accordingly.
- Demonstrates the interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with a diverse group of internal callers, clients, visitors, etc. in a professional, courteous, friendly and sincere manner.
- Works closely with Member Services to ensure that all the proper paperwork has been completed regarding childcare and maintains up to date child information.
- Inventories supplies and communicates requests for ordering supplies
- Ensures (also performs duties) the return of all equipment to proper storage area; ensures all equipment is in proper working order; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately and maintains proper operations.
- Assists in the interviewing, selection, hiring, orientation and ongoing performance management of staff; complies with completion of required Human resources processes and forms.
- Oversee and manage the curriculum of The Center’s Youth Programs and Events including but not limited to Kids In Motion, Kids Quest, and Play Center, etc.
- Assists in facilitating birthday parties/room rental for the facility. Communicates with individuals wanting to rent the facility for birthday parties, baby/bridal showers, graduation parties, etc. Completes contract and schedules desired meeting time to discuss facility rules.
- Act as a liaison between the youth we serve, youth’s family and school, local businesses, as well as The Center’s Youth Programs and Events.
- Work jointly with Management to implement an annual program budget to plan and execute field trips and special events for youth throughout school year and summer.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a physical education or related health field preferred; 2 years of related experience in childcare or youth services preferred. High School graduate or equivalent required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Youth Fitness certification required or must attain within one year of employment; Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Basic First Aid certification required or must complete BLS and AED certification with in the first two weeks of employment; Basic First Aid certification to be completed within the first six months after hire.
Water Safety Instructor
Overview
Under the supervision of the Aquatics/Group Fitness Manager, independently instructs Private Red Cross Swimming Lessons to children and adults in the aquatic center at The Center for Health Improvement.
Position Summary
- Prepares for class by having proper equipment available and ready.
- Instructs swimming lessons including Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program (IPAP) and Levels I, II, III and IV to all age levels; makes recommendations to students/parents as appropriate for student to practice skills.
- Prepares mental or written lesson plans; executes lesson plans as appropriate for physical level of class participants; modifies lesson plans as necessary to avoid injury and meets the needs of each participant; selects appropriate activities for the specific class being taught and be able to modify as necessary; and selects appropriate equipment to achieve goals of daily lesson plans (kick boards, toys and floatation devices); assists with the coordination of class times and contacts student/parent prior to scheduled session time; and assists with program development.
- Returns all equipment to proper storage area; ensures all equipment is in proper working order; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately.
- Verbalizes and writes communication to membership regarding components of swimming lessons; reports any lack of attendance in swimming lessons; clearly and appropriately communicates to members, staff and all internal and external customers; and actively listens and clearly communicates to all members to ensure understanding of expectations; communicates completion of class and appropriately records information in compliance with the American Red Cross guidelines.

Exercise Physiologist
Overview
Under the supervision of the Fitness Director and in coordination with the Cardiac Rehab Clinical Coordinator, independently performs member/patient assessments, exercise programs and plan of goals. Assists in designing and maintaining a variety of programs especially in disease management.
Position Summary
Essential Functions:
- Performs assessment evaluation (BP, HR, flexibility, strength tests, body composition, waist/hip ratio, sub-maximal exercise tests); conducts member/patient orientations and use of equipment and follow-up; maintains member/patient exercise program and plan of goals through exercise data software; reviews members/patient charts, interprets results and incorporates information and makes appropriate changes to overall exercise plan towards improving members/patients’ overall well-being; maintains member/patient retention through regular contact with members/patients through exercise software; and attains a knowledgeable level of specific diseases, medications, wellness and latest health issues.
- Assists in designing, implementing and maintaining health and wellness programs for members/patients, corporate and community events; reports success of programs with written publications
- Provides patient/member education by explaining procedures and exercise programs, use of equipment and gives instructions at a level the patient/member can understand; addresses patient/member’s questions and concerns; completes patient/member orientation and consent forms when needed; refers questions about outcomes, diagnosis, treatment or prognosis to patient's/member's physician. Provides appropriate information to individuals involved in the patient’s/member's care.
- Monitors patient/member and reports any inappropriate responses to exercise and terminates exercise as needed; interprets EKGs and complex arrhythmias; maintains accurate documentation of intervention due to critical deviations of plan of care; and assists with emergency care according to standing orders.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelors of Science Degree in exercise science or related health field and a national certification National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) through a credential health/fitness association preferred or must obtain with in the first year of employment; 1-2 years experience in providing clinical support, disease management and program development in fitness testing required.
