Dr. Aimee Riegel, Owner FIT PT and Wellness, Work (or Home) Wellness: Preventing Health Risks Affecting Workers Who Sit
Do you spend extended periods of time sitting during your work day? An analysis of 13 studies of sitting time and activity levels found that those who sat for more than eight hours a day with no physical activity had a risk of dying similar to the risks of dying posed by smoking. The impact of movement throughout your day can be profound on your overall health! Join us for a virtual lunch and learn session led by movement expert Dr. Aimee Riegel, Physical Therapist of FIT PT and Wellness, in which we will address critical issues that affect desk workers.  In this session, we will identify risks associated with prolonged sitting and learn techniques* to incorporate throughout the work day to negate the effects of postural strain, repetitive use movements, and improve overall health.
*Let’s get moving! This session will include hands-on practicing and movement. We encourage you to wear clothes that you will feel comfortable in for simple exercises and set up your computer in a place that gives you some room to move.
