Purpose: This position is to provide maintenance and repair for District maintained IT hardware, software, and peripherals. This position provides professional service to staff and students. Position may be assigned a school based on need or dispatched from the help desk.   Responsible to: Technology Director   Qualifications/Requirements: Computer experience and knowledge required in hardware and software. Working knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10 and Apple OS and IOS. Working knowledge of LAN and WLAN. Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory. Employee must have excellent time management skills. Employee must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Employee must be courteous, helpful, and willing to be inconvenienced in order to get the job done. Employee must maintain patience with frustrated staff and students. Employee must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Employee must be self-directed, cooperative, and able to show initiative. Employee must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Employee must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Applicant must submit resume with application. Coordinate repairs and returns with vendors. Valid Kansas drivesquo;s license with a good driving record. Essential Job Functions: Repair and maintain computers, printers, and projectors. Troubleshoot and isolate computer hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot and isolate network and wireless issues. Install computers and associated software. Tracks all work in the help desk work order system. Responsible for inventory management of assigned equipment. Assist in training and staff development. Research and evaluate new hardware and software. Other duties as assigned.   Marginal Job Functions: None. Special Physical Requirements: Duties are performed in centralized computer repair shop and at schools. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to various lighting conditions, dust and pollen, regular automobile traffic conditions while driving to/from work sites. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to drive; stand; walk; climb; balance; bend; stoop; kneel; twist/turn; push/pull up to fifty (50) pounds; lift/move up to twenty (20) pounds for at least 35 feet. Must be capable of dealing with noise and constant interruptions. Other: The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district. The employee shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.   Terms of Employment: At will. Regular attendance is required of all employees subject to allowed leave in accordance with district policy. Selected candidate must pass background check. Selected candidate must provide health and inoculation certificate.   Evaluation: Performance effectiveness evaluated in accordance with provisions of Kansas Statutes and USD 489 Board of Education policy.
