Details

Have you ever heard horror stories about an organization taking a photo from the web for promotional materials or a presentation, only to find out months later that photo was copyrighted? This situation happens all the time – and the way to avoid it is by understanding the basics of copyright law. Claire Nickerson is the Open Educational Resources Librarian and the expert at Fort Hays State University’s Forsyth Library on copyright and licensing. In this Lunch & Learn, we’ll learn how to identify whether copyrighted content can be used commercially, how to use portions of copyrighted content within constraints of fair use, and places to find free-use images.
